To our wonderful QAFC Coaches

The committee trusts that you and your families are staying safe.

There is no time like a lockdown to spend time considering your next coaching challenge.

Changes implemented by NZ Football will require all clubs to have a minimum number of Qualified "C" licenced coaches. Over the next two years and beyond, a club of our size will need four or five Qualified ‘C’ licence Coaches.

Gaining this licence requires both a time and money commitment.

The time commitment consists of two consecutive weekends (Friday to Sunday) presently in Dunedin. However, as our region grows and numbers permitting we will strive to provide a Queenstown based course. The course does require some study and after the course candidates are required to design and video a coaching session ! (the club will provide both the players and video facilities).

The cost of the course is $1368.50 plus travel/accommodation costs.

The club is not able to front foot this cost, historically candidates have signed up for the course, either not completed the course or not qualified. This leaves the club open to a financial risk which we are not able to cover.

QAFC will reimburse the full costs to any candidate obtaining their ‘C’ Licence and coaching with the club for a following two year period.

What next ?

We are seeking to engage your interest in gaining a 'C' licence qualification. We want to hear any thoughts/ proposals about the reimbursement of costs proposed.

We intend to run a social gathering where Jamie Whitmarsh and Mark Ford (our Mens and Womens Premier Team Coaches) will provide an insight into the course and answer any questions of interest.

The next course scheduled is in November (Dunedin) and registration can be made via this link

www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/150564

So please give this some thought and register your interest. We'll be in touch soon about the presentation from Mark and Jaimie.

Hi all, needless to say there won't be any futsal next week. We will hopefully be back up and running the following week. Stay safe out there everyone!New Zealand will remain at Alert Level 4 until 11.59pm on Tuesday 24 August with a review on Monday to determine next steps.

At Alert Level 4 you can only leave home to shop for groceries, access necessary healthcare, get a COVID-19 test, exercise in your local area, or go to work if you are working in an Alert Level 4 service and cannot work from home. Only make physical contact with those in your household bubble.

You legally must wear a face covering if you are a customer or an employee involving customer contact at a business or service operating at Alert Level 4.

If you have been at a location of interest or have symptoms, immediately self-isolate and get a test.

You can find locations of interest here: www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-ad...

You can find testing centres here: covid19.govt.nz/health-and-wellbeing/covid-19-testing/community-testing-centres/

The health system is still operating. If you need healthcare, you can access care the same way you normally would. If that is your GP, give them a ring. If that’s Healthline, ring free on 0800 611 116. In an emergency immediately dial 111.

Be patient, be kind, stay informed.
