QAFC Academy
The QAFC Academy offers an opportunity for advanced footballers from Queenstown and surrounding areas the option to push themselves and further develop their skills, game understanding and ability.
The academy has a range of coaches across the ages from u9 to u15. Our older academy players (u14/u15) compete in the Southern Football League – Southern Football – Football South Development Leagues
The Academy caters to every stage of player development, offering programmes for players from u9 through to u15 at a more advanced level than the local community football programmes.
QAFC academy offers a programme for players year-round, with additional opportunities throughout the year to national level tournament football at Christchurch International Cup and Mainland Football South Island Tournaments and other regional tournaments.

Where does the Academy fit into QAFC?
The academy operates at a level above the Junior Community Football Programme across u10 to u15, with qualified coaches running additional session per week. These sessions are not designed for “social” players, and are for players that have the capability to excel, learn and operate in a competative environment.
Participation in the academy programme is by invitation only.
Pre-season trails are available as well as opportunities to join the academy at the beginning of each school term cycle.

Academy Player Contract
We also need to ensure that all academy members understand their ownership of their own academy development and expectations to meet out “Academy Player Contract“:
I understand that the Academy is a great opportunity for me to have fun and develop my skills in an advanced environment.
I agree to do the following to make this happen:
- Players are required to arrive for all training sessions in appropriate football training gear incl. shin pads and with a water bottle
- Show courtesy and consideration to others
- Show total respect to all people and property
- Follow the instruction of the Coaches
We always strive to make sessions fun and enjoyable. We also believe in fostering a committed attitude in our players. We encourage them to arrive on time, give their best and contribute to a positive training atmosphere where the focus is on football.
